What is hydrofoiling?

A brief introduction…

Hydrofoiling is literally ‘flying’ over the water. By placing wings – hydrofoils – under the water, the boat rises out of the water at a certain speed. This reduces drag and causes the speed to increase. The acceleration and silence when the boat comes out of the water gives an extra dimension to the sailing experience. However, handling the boat becomes more difficult because of this.

Therefore hydrofoiling was only accessible to experienced and athletic sailors. With the Flo1, everyone is now able to experience hydrofoiling. Thanks to the patented DSS-wings, the Flo1 sails (and flies) extremely stable. Besides, the wings are only adjusted before sailing off. During sailing, the foils only have to be raised and lowered.

A strong collaboration

Making hydrofoiling accessible to anyone..

Aeronamics developed the Flo1 to enable a large group of sailors to hydrofoil. After building and testing three prototypes it launched the Flo1, presenting it to the world at Boot Düsseldorf in January 2017.

The next logical step in bringing hydrofoiling closer to the average sailor was collaborating with sailing school De Randmeren, in the form of the Foiling Experience.

Sailing school De Randmeren possesses all the experience to introduce sailors of all levels to hydrofoiling quickly and safely. The sailing school is located next to the beautiful Veluwemeer, where the surrounding area offers many tourist facilities.

Foiling Experience

Basic package

€115 | per person | 60 min
€210 | two persons | 120 min

Boat rent
The foiling classes are given in Aeronamics’ Flo1.
Gear
Protective clothing, a helmet and an impact protector are included in the regular package.
Instruction
You are given theoretical and practical training about sailing a foiling boat. You are instructed from a RIB that stays nearby at all times, based on your experience and skill level.
Fun!
A lot of fun and adrenaline guaranteed.

Group arrangements

The Foiling Experience offers a great day out for groups as well. Sailing schools and clubs are able to take members foiling as a team building activity and to enrich the sailing experience. A day of fun on the water can be concluded with a barbecue.

In certain cases we can take the Flo1 to another location.

A great day out

Sailors of all levels can make their first steps hydrofoiling. How long you need depends on your level of sailing. Experience has shown that an average sailor makes his/her first ‘flight’ within at least half an hour. Fun is guaranteed regardless!

At least one companion can join the instructor on the RIB.

De Randmeren offers water sports activities for all ages. A foiling lesson is easily combined with a day out for the family. The sailing school is surrounded by accomodations, like the campsite right next door or the holiday resort further along the lake.
